Thoughts from Saturday's open practice

Kim has big concerns as in Fatters Big but don't go twisting

FWIW, to supplement that, Mathis appears to be limited. I didn't really see him during practice until the end when the defense was running a gasser. He didn't run but did push-ups instead, so it seems like he's not 100%. Helps explain why Dissly and Wooching are running with the 2s at DE.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Players get put in walking boots these days for pretty minor injuries just to be safe. I think we would have heard something by now if it was more serious.

That's probably the best way to look at it.

All we know right now is that he's in a walking boot and that he's not using crutches. Since Petersen won't talk about injuries to the media, the only thing we can do as fans is to wait until he begins running again and playing live downs in practice.

I am really starting to hate coach Petersen. To compete with schools like Oregon and Stanford we are going to have to have non-injured players. Maybe he should go coach for a church league.

Was there, looked really precautionary considering how well he was moving. Maybe only worth 3 wins this year.

Ross should be fine. Splooge on Dawgman said he saw him jogging around on it. If its anything, he has 7 weeks to recover completely.

Chest this wasn't the free pub I was looking for

As I recall, big John Riggins of the Redskins played a half at running back, running over defenders and amassing yards....with a fractured leg. He would have taken the boot, filled it with bootleg and guzzled it on the sidelines.

Was at the practice, wouldn't be too worried about Ross. He was jogging around in his boot and also rode the bike for part of practice. Probably just precautionary, I bet at most he is out a week.

Maybe he just likes really big shoes
