If the freshman Chris Polk doesn't get hurt and plays significant minutes in 2008, do the Dawgs avoid Owen?

I dont think so. I can't actually remember who the backs were after Polk, but I don't think they were one of the big factors leading to owen.

Freshman Polk ran like a scarred pussy.

@iDawg and @RaceBannon had a podcast about his scarred running before he got hurt.

Post injury angry Polk is still one of my favorite UW players from my lif tim.

He had barely played, but Polk was playing soft his first couple of games as a freshmen. Some thought he was more of wr. Something obviously clicked from then to his R-fr season. Maybe they beat the coug.

He didn't appear to be the same Chris Polk that came out against LSU.

He played more receiver than running back in HS iirc and was a speed guy. He wasn't fast enough to be thst guy in college and needed time to develop. Had no business starting in 2008.

Started at Oregon as a RB the first game of 08 as a freshman. Got hurt in the game. Everyone thought he medically redshirted but found out late in 2011 no one filed the proper paperwork IICR.

Something changed between Polk's freshman and sophomore seasons. Just can't put my finger on it...

Me too.

IIRC…..he was promised the starting RB job. Hence his commitment
