You remember poorly. I was in favor of getting Bin Laden, blowing the shit out of the Taliban and then telling them don't make us come back. Trying to turn Afghanistan and Iraq to functioning democracies was a fools errand. I did buy the chemical and nuclear threat of Saddam but that was a lie that everyone believed including the NY Times. But once Saddam was no longer a threat we should have threatened the Iranians to leave Iraq alone and then leave. That was at least by year 2. We are now in year 4 of the Ukraine mess with no American interests in play. Let the Euros play eternal war if they want to save a democracy that doesn't exist.
