This just sunk in

The last ever Pac 12 champion is fucking Utah

That's why you guys deserve more shit than we do for losing to Montana.

But more importantly, fuck every single person that thought it was acceptable to even let them into the PAC 12. The league slowly died after that. I like ASU but the desert and mountain schools being in a conference that had beautiful coastal vistas as its identity is gross and bad for the brand.

And they are fucking mountain west in everything they do.

Fucking Chris burnout Petersen wiped his balls all over them in 2018. Cornerbacks outscoring a mountain west school.

Oregon getting manhandled like they're playing Georgia, getting ankles broken against a tiny 40 year old is still incredible to think about.

Adding Colorado and Utah was a dumb and lazy move in a long line of dumb and lazy moves by the conference

The merger with the Big 12 best for a 16 team Pac Big 12 that we discussed at the time was what was needed

Larry got Colorado and Utah instead

And now it's dead

Looks like you over-rotated and blew your landing with this one.

Losses like that have already happened to bigger schools employing the worst coaches in their history.

It lubricated getting Lake out of here while Oregon, fresh off bludgeoning #1 was getting a fat contract extension ready for Christo.

But yes it's definitely up there among other Pac atrocities in 21, like a wet napkin SC team, getting blown out by whatever it was to cuog, them celebrating their national championship on the field after, cuog firing a good coach because he wouldn't get the shot, etc etc. Everyone's celebrating a GOOD Oregon State team who immediately gets rolled by Utah State.

But fuck the Pac 12 for taking those two schools and then self funding a network that shows them playing Olympic sports 24/7

Yeah the botched Big 12 merger ended up being the death of both conferences and it is what would have made the most sense basically grouping the best programs west of the Mississippi and feeding the lesser programs out here as well.

One of the problems with all of this and you see if in the business world a lot is organizations having a bunch of shitty executives who have no real job so they have to come up with ideas to justify their big salaries so they do shit just to do shit. Like when McDonalds served pizza.

The only realignment that made any sense was blending the Big East into the ACC or

Ol backhand Larry had the right vision but too much of a pussy to follow through on the execution.

He was the right person when they hired him but after Tom Hansen anyone was the right person. The problem was five years in the fans and the media knew he was a bridge commissioner and needed to move on unfortunately he said all the right things to the executives in charge.

Remember how Larry started publicly bragging about it before the deal was done? And then it fell apart.

Just once it would be nice if you could think a lucid point and then post it coherently. ............

Uh................................................................................................................................never mind.

It doesn’t matter, the last PAC12 Championship game will probably be delayed by NASCAR Trucks anyways.

NASCAR Trucks > PAC 12

What was the sticking point? Pretty sure it was the laughable P12 network that Larry created to stroke his ego. Something about that and the Longhorn Network not coexisting.

The "best" part of all this is that the Pac-12 was reportedly one of the conferences to veto the conference champion auto bid playoff expansion vote. I don't know if that would have changed the socal programs' attitude toward staying in the conference, but it would be a nice thing for the Pac-? to have for the next 5 years, especially in regard to recruiting. Talk about an easy path.

I was worried that Texas, and to a lesser extent Oklahomo would play power games and ruin it. That probably would have happened somehow, but at least the conference would be in a stronger position.
