I wish I could remember who said this, but a Korean celebrity was visiting America with her grandparents, and they saw a homeless man nearby. The grandpa went over to him and bowed and gave him some money. The celebrity asked her grandpa why he gave money to that stranger, and he said that in the early 1950s when people were literally starving to death in Seoul, the Americans oversaw massive shipments of food and supplies to the Korean people, and alleviated some suffering and saved many lives. And now he sees an American suffering and wanted to pay it back, or words to that effect.
