"We can't keep the combustion engine the way it has been. We're moving in the direction that we don't need........oil products." This is exactly what people paying over $4/gal for regular unleaded want to hear today. This guy is so fucking clueless that it's painful to watch. Dementia patients tend to lose their filter.

Great job BidenBros. Nice vote. Way to go. Losers.

“The argument about ‘unused’ leases is a red herring, a smokescreen for energy policies that have had a hamstringing effect,” on oil production, O’Scannlain says.

“Ultimately, energy policies affect the energy investment climate” O’Scannlain says. Government policies can either discourage or encourage oil producers to take the risk of investing billions of dollars, plus considerable time and effort, to find out whether or not the lands they lease are viable sources of oil.

“Psaki has made the claim about ‘unused’ federal leases before,” O’Scannlain notes. “It has become a line the White House pivots to when pressed to explain why it isn’t doing more to support American oil and gas production.”

“Regulatory uncertainty and political hostility to fossil fuels discourage long-term investments,” The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board agrees, explaining that President Biden’s anti-domestic energy policies have made his the first administration in at least twenty years to go an entire year without selling a single onshore lease.

The Biden Administration isn’t just refusing to grant additional leases - it has actually revoked a permit that could bring 830,000 barrels of crude oil daily to the U.S.

In a controversial move during his first day in office, Pres. Biden revoked the permit allowing extension of the Keystone XL pipeline to Alberta, Canada. If completed, the pipeline could potentially provide the U.S. with more oil than it currently buys from Russia.

Plus, it’s not as quick and easy as merely flipping a switch, since it takes years of work to determine whether the leased land even holds enough oil to be commercially viable, O’Scannlain writes.

Then, there’s the long process of overcoming “administrative and legal challenges at every step along the way The lengthy process to develop them from a lease often is extended by administrative and legal challenges at every step along the way.”

Biden isn't saying what he is saying because of dementia. He is saying what his handlers are telling him to say. Their hatred of private sector working Americans and their ignorance of science, economics and history are the reason. Oh, and they are corrupt and getting paid. You think Mayor Buttplug could get a real world private sector job that didn't involve french fries?

The biggest issue with all of this is the required infrastructure to support electric cars. Build a trillion of government infrastructure or whatever and investments and innovation will be centered around that and not investing at the same rates for an actual solution like hydrogen or whatever is next. And the lobbyists will actively hinder it.

Well maybe not fries but I believe he has a skill that's marketable.

Libs believe that oil is only used in combustion engines. Get rid of those pesky things and no need for oil. Easy peasy.

I miss the days when some retard here or the halfbrains site would go on an on about peak oil. In 2 years, 3 tops.

Now it’s so abundant we literally have to fuck ourselves over to not have enough.

We was the peak oil guy? Does anyone remember. He seems TKSish in his level of idiocy.

This is helpful. A couple of weeks ago I was trying to figure out what Biden has done to decrease oil production. I got a lot of “keystone pipeline” type horseshit that made no sense. And the TugCons couldn’t really articulate anything else.

This makes sense. Race does it again!

Owl, the dumbest poaster in the history of message boards.

Hurtful.

Was on a call yesterday morning where we are shutting in pipelines/leases in California. Not because of the $ of oil but because of the price of regulatory compliance with recent EPA & DOT decisions. I'm hearing this has no effect on oil prices though.

Just CA? Can the smaller O & G companies leasing private mineral rights survive the changes Joey's is implementing?

in a Forbes article in Jan 2021 they mention the impact of secretarial orders and an Eos stopping oil and they are all related to climate change. So many folks did not think that it was directly related to the oil industries.

The EO impact
"President Biden followed that action up with Executive Order on Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad. The biggest takeaway from this order was an indefinite “pause on new oil and natural gas leases on public lands” until a comprehensive review on the climate change impacts can be completed.[/i][/b]"

Exactly. I see a lot of 400 person apartment complex’s with room for 150 cars. The rest are parked all over the side streets. How in the fuck are EV’s going to work for the 10s of millions apartment dwellers and those in the city who park on the street? I’m probably too dumb to reimagine EV charging. Getting people on mass transit will be another major push. Except of course for the people pushing it. They will still be driving.

Sounds like they need an embroidered invitation to start drilling on their leases.
