- He didn’t fire Helton.
- He presided over the FBI investigations into the College Admissions scandal and basketball program.
- He banned the song girls from basketball games.
- He attended an autograph show in Virginia during the admissions scandal and the same day USC hosted five sports events.
- He chose to attend the Masters for two weeks, which delayed hiring a women’s basketball coach.
- He showed little concern for fans who had their seats moved at the Coliseum during the renovation.
- He wrote a tone deaf, arrogant statement to the fans to explain why he kept Helton.
- He once threatened to remove a booster’s name from a campus sign following a disagreement.

Greg Byrne is a name that jumps to my mind if he wants to move back West. Although this is only his third year at Alabama. Probably should have hired him last time. Also wonder if the scandals at Arizona that emerged after he left tarnish him at all.
Desiree Reed-Francois of UNLV is making all the lists of hot names but doesn't do much for me.
Gene Smith would be the most entertaining hire and would give you the Urban Meyer connection. Package deal?
Pat Chun a more realistic name with a connection to Urban Meyer. Also younger, hungrier, and has the feather in his cap of hiring Kiffin at FAU. And its always fun to laugh at WSU when their people get poached.

the challenge getting Byrne is that looking at it from his side, Alabama can pay the top rate and they have their shit together and will have his back (they take care of their own)... looking at USC it's a fucking mess all over the map from the illegal admissions scandal to the basketball team to the football coach decisions that are looming and dealing with that donor base. I think the USC job has moved into the realm of what you said next - the domain of someone who is old, rich, and white[/s] desperate or someone who is young, scrappy and hungry who's not throwin' away his shot.

There continue to be questions about the future of five-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei quarterback Bryce Young and whether his commitment will hold. Losing Young would be a gigantic blow to a recruiting class that has Young, one four-star prospect and 10 three-star recruits.
If Young were to de-commit, it would be a big blow as Young is the only current Trojans’ commit ranked inside the 247Sports Top 247. It would also be a big blow because of the connection he has with other players in the 2020 class. Throughout the tumultuous offseason, the chance to play with Young was one of the major selling points for recruits, particularly offensive skill players.
