Bringing out the uniforms and once again reminding everybody that the biggest win in the history of their program was beating a probation-laden UW team that had questionable motivation SCREAMS of the day that little brother beat big brother for the first time.

Oregon will always be the little brother in the grand scheme of things ... their behavior on things like this cement it.

In 2034, when you haven't been to the Rose Bowl in 30+ years, when you've suffered through a Suffering that makes 2002-2013 look like happy fun time (hey, you've been to and even won some bowl games) - turning that tradition of shit football around deserves some celebration.

We could celebrate the USC win from 1994 instead, but it's harder to focus on a generally good performance by the defense and that game was at the Coliseum anyway.

Sure, the win was sweeter because it was big bad Warshington, but it was a total change in program trajectory. Prior to "The Pick" Oregon all-time had a .495 Win % (359-366-34). Since that game, Oregon is .731 (177-65)

What I didn't realize was that before the Washington game in '94, Oregon was 4-3.

Even that special Rose Bowl year where Oregon got plunger raped by Penn St was perhaps one of the most mediocre years in the history of the conference. UW ineligible ... USC being FS at the time ... UCLA on the last legs of the Donahue period. If Arizona even had an offense during that season, they would have easily made the Rose Bowl.

That's part of the legend. Oregon had lost to Utah and Hawaii, both WAC schools at that time. It was truly an upset of epic proportions because even though on probation UW had beat Ohio State and Miami in the Orange Bowl, the famous whammy.

Sure, UW slept walked and trailed but were in the process of the game winning break your little duck hearts drive when Huard went back to pass.
 
I just hope in 2029 after UW has had success under Peterman that they don't celebrate the 2009 win over USC that pulled us out of the darkness.

Sorry, you don't get to call yourself big brother when no one under the age of a high school student remembers actually seeing UW's last win over UO. Unless Helfrich becomes a better coach soon, that streak could very well end in a couple years, even potentially this year, but for now best believe Huskies are Oregon's bitch.

By all means though, enjoy your grand scheme.

It was hardly the biggest victory, just a major turning point. Kinda like the Whammy in Miami that same year, which many Husky fans seriously still believe determined the "real" '91 champion. Hilarious.

And yeah, that '94 Oregon team was almost as weak as the 2000 Purdue squad Markus To-be-ought-supposed-to dominated.

I have to say, the mere fact that you "Big Brothers" treat Oregon memorializing "The Pick" as your program's biggest victory in the past 14 years makes me feel terrific. By all means, congratulate yourselves to your little hearts' content.

The uniform itself isn't quookish, it's the reason it's being brought out that makes it quookish. Like I said, this uniform needs to be worn once a year, because it looks good, but also a reminder of where we came from.

The reason I most enjoy the duckade is the punishment meted out to doogs that were always harping that UW and USC are the most important programs and everyone else is shit. Now that they've dropped ten straight during the meteoric rise of the Quooks, and the mighty USC has been reduced to the rubble you see in ancient Rome, this script has played out and is no more. Oregon has become the premier program in the northwest and the Huskies have become an afterthought.
