The program will take a step forward next year

It is about the same as this year. Indiana, at Oregon, at USC.

but will the play calling hold it back?
Assuming Fisch and Walters both stay, they will be bringing back a lot of pivotal players that got valuable experience this season.
Demond will be going into year two, the line will be a veteran group, talented freshman will be coming in, and this staff has proven an ability to bring in good players via the portal (Willis, most of the defensive line).
Making the playoffs is mandatory. I just don't know if this offense will ever get into a rhythm against good teams. It always takes a miracle and a 4th down conversion to do anything.
Need to channel the Petersen year 3. There are some parallels.
In the dark ages, that might have been true
With NIL, any decent player is going to get approached for a payday.

No reason to believe 2025 wasn’t a high water mark.
Only counter to this is that Fisch went from 1 win, to 5, to 10 at Arizona.
So far it's 6, to hopefully 9 pending bowl, to ????
His teams do improve.
But something about the offense was rotten this year and that is his baby. The defense was stellar.
it was rotten. so next year it all hinders on either can Demond make the throws and break the mold of a

Need a big playmaker WR out of the portal, which will be expensive. Boston bailed us out a lot of times, and he’s going to be very hard to replace

Gonna be an expensive portal offseason to get to 10 wins. Lots of spots to fill. This was the year to pop.

They need to portal in at least 1 starting CB, maybe 2. Prysock and Taco leave a huge hole outside, Robinson might make a big jump and take one spot, but he’s been torched a ton filling in for Taco.

Great schedule. Two of five road B1G games are to 0regon or Los Angeles. Then Mich St and Purdue. I guess Nebraska was good at home 50 years ago. So there is that.
The toughest games at home are against PSU, Indiana (no worse that tOSU at home this year) and Iowa.

UW will pay for him to come back
I hope so. I think he would earn more money that way.
It’s a mixed blessing now on guys staying that last year. You could turn his money into a legit edge too.
UW needs to find the money to do all of the above or enjoy 8-4 forever
