Counterpoint: Brian Hartline (he was a GA for a year, Kearse was in a similar assistant role for a year). Again he's better than the 2 options that have interviewed Sac State WR coach and Thomas Ford.

Kearse was in some bullshit recruiting department role and quit after less than a year. His biggest contribution was posing for those shitty signing day graphics. That's nothing like a GA at all.

Michael Thomas. Devin Smith. Terry McLaurin. Many other pros. They have been good a long time. Zach Smith was keeping his job because his WR’s were great.

Brian Hartline is obviously doing great. Somebody should hire him to be an OC somewhere. One of the best position coaches in the country for sure.

McLaurin stuck around for 5 years. Michael Thomas was good not great in college. Smith the same. He took it to another level.

If it was true Oregon would have taken Petersen after he hung 70 on them on their home field.

Phil Nike would have done anything to poach Petersen. He'd even kick his mom out of her trailer park home.

3 opportunities to hire head coaches and looked who they got. Extremely lucky that Meat worked out for them after getting his ass kicked by Boise.

The "Phil will buy us a Natty" thing is a narrative to keep central Oregon people buying tickets and Nike surplus.

I'm not ready to definitively say any players (beside Asa) suck. When they all looked bad I point to coaching. We just spent 6 months saying Lake is terrible and the coaching staff is terrible so how can you also say with confidence any of the players aren't capable of being good with better coaches. Some suck but hard to know right now.

I'm not ready to definitively say any players (beside Asa) suck. When they all looked bad I point to coaching. We just spent 6 months saying Lake is terrible and the coaching staff is terrible so how can you also say with confidence any of the players aren't capable of being good with better coaches. Some suck but hard to know right now.

I think a lot of them do suck, but there will also be a couple that surprise a bit under a new staff.
