China is our biggest threat, the one country that can challenge Western hegemony economically and militarily, with 1.4 billion people. Far more potential than Cold War USSR. It's the opposite of Chinese propaganda to demand the USA buck up and compete economically with blockchain and green energy. You want to just sit back for the next couple decades and watch them blow by us in market efficiency and renewables, throwing their influence all over the world with next generation tech while we twiddle our thumbs with an archaic monetary system and a finite fossil fuel supply? This is not the time to be passive. We need to be looking 20 years down the road. China has been trialling and introducing digital yuan for years now. It will be locked and loaded soon. You may not understand the efficiency that blockchain provides, especially with a centralized state run bank like China has. Dealing in and with China is going to be smooth like butter before long. What are we doing to counter? China is investing in renewables to an extreme degree. Trillions. For a good reason. Because it's renewable. What are we doing to counter? Drill baby drill? China can do that too. They have Russia in their pocket like a prison bitch.
I guess we can just be isolationists on our island like it's 1910 and pretend it's all cool, driving Model Ts while China invents teleportation. You get my point.
America needs to lead, not follow. I thought that's what we do. At the very least keep it even with next gen tech. That's not happening right now in the financial and energy realm. Domestic and global security is a thing. China can very well threaten all of that in the decades to come at this rate. China's one party laughs, invests, and develops unencumbered while our two parties stalemate each other and stall real development. Bipartisanship and forward thinking is needed ASAP. Hoorah.
