That would help immensely in recruiting if we could have the next DB coach in house and recruits would know it, rather than being left out in the cold from all the negative recruiting Lake and Pete are having to face.

There is a reason the news of this extension came out, and came out through Softy. My hope is that the above happens in January and we are in a better place.

The leak to Softy about Lake eventually getting a contract extension says a lot about what the difficulties have been like for Lake and Petersen this cycle, especially the fact it comes right before Gordon is visited by ND and hopefully visits UW.

The reason it hurts us more than other schools is the way we sell. Pete is all about being upfront and honest with recruits, even if it means hearing stuff they don't want to hear. Meanwhile, other schools would just lie straight to the face of recruits and parents even if they knew they had a job on the other line.
