Wrong … 1) he had previous head coaching gigs and 2) he took both of his previous programs to March Madness.
Hop’s only head coaching experience prior to UW is when Jim B. missed a couple games.
Last year when I checked my app UW was in most games and when I would check back they had collapsed by the 4th quarter. Expect a big improvement in this department and unlike Fisch he will actually win on the road occasionally in the Big Ten. At minimum UW needs to make the conference tournament with an outside chance at the Big Dance bid.

ha I totally spaced out his first two years at UW. What did he do with 2 ***** star one and done players? Next to nothing if I remember correctly. (I’m old, is my excuse)
I believe Sprinkle will get UW to the tournament eventually and have similar success as Romar making the big dance. It will be difficult to match Romar’s success with Seattle studs playing multiple years and a couple deep runs and a #1 seed.
Those Romar teams with Roy and IT led squads were fun during March especially when we were in the wilderness during the dark football years.

I had a similar feeling when Romar was hired and after year 1. But yes, skepticism is understandable when it comes the Husky hoops.
Still rather beat UCLA in football tonight than Gonzaga in hoops if they were on the schedule.
you seem to be all over this thread while not caring about UW hoops. I sure as hell would rather waste my time occasionally when UW is good vs the fucking Mariners that haven’t won jack shit and choked going 2-0 in Toronto in the ALCS. Absolute best sports decision I ever made was ending my baseball (Pilots/M’s) viewing after that chock job in 2001. M’s fans have become the twentieth century Cub fans.

While "The team sucks until they don't" is riveting sports debate/conversation, just go ahead and fuck off until March so that you can then chime in, minutes before tip-off of the tournament, just to queef "UW will just get their ass kicked by Purdue or Arizona anyways" which just illustrates why this existed on a separate sub board in the first place.

I am not sure that any result (short of winning the big dance) for year 2 makes up for year one under sprinkle. I think he is the right guy and is finding funding for his portal needs so I think he can/will be the guy. But I still don't know how he did as badly as he did last year.
If the UW isn’t a top 40 basketball program, just shut it down. There’s no reason a city the size of Seattle that puts out hoop talent like taking a piss that shouldn’t happen.

Sprinkle has said a few times he was unaware how expensive the portal was his first year in P4 basketball. He thought he had some really nice players on the hook only to find out they’d been paid waaaay more than he was offering and frankly more than he thought they were worth. The players he ended up with didn’t want to win as much as he did. Simple as that. With a clearer idea of what he was up against this year and a full season to scout he loaded the roster with his kinda guys. Get them all healthy at the same time and let’s see what they can do.

UW played 7 healthy players today, the 8th Summerville spelled Big Franck for less than 10 minutes. Still beat Nevada by double digits. Say what you will about UW bball, but these guys are fun to watch
