I’ve worked in grocery for 20 years. Recalls happen all the fucking time. Big food is a messy business and most problems aren’t found by regulators they’re found by people getting sick. The government employees are around to help backtrack the problem to the farm, field or lot and make sure the recall is accurate. I’m sure there are still plenty of those folks on the payroll.
