The Fisching Report Recruiting Thread Sponsored by The Fisch Bowl

Flip those two Baylor kids and get the Mission Viejo DT that they got a crystal dong for and I’d be very happy with this class. I’m really impressed with the kids they brought in for 2025. More so after seeing them in person than when they signed. If 2026 yields similar results you’d be looking at 15-16 high caliber starters from the two classes. Get a couple of the developmental DL/OL from each class to pop and that’s really, really great work from this staff. I’m still not sure they can coach them to the playoffs but the roster building is as good as UW’s had in 5-6 years.

When you look at the 2025 class I think you can make the following conclusions:
Likely have 2 multi-year starters on the OL in Mills and Champ (potential for 3-4 year starters for both)
Have 2 WRs that have flashed as part of your WR group over the next 3 years (Roebuck and RVB) and a 3rd WR in Lawson that has played … Roebuck is looking like the next in the line of high-end UW WRs
ZRS likely starts next year and his ceiling may be as the best UW LB in a decade
Both Dillard-Allen and Dylan Robinson have held their own this year in the secondary and likely become multi-year starters beginning next year
So getting 7 guys that you can easily see in starting roles going forward … and not just in starting roles going forward but many impactful roles is really nice to see. What's even more impressive is that it's a mix of can't miss talent at the top of the recruiting rankings as well as in talent evaluation in someone like Roebuck that wasn't highly rated.
In looking at the 2026 class I think you are probably going to see a similar level of youth coming in and being impactful right away … and quite possibly with a greater impact in both numbers and quality.
How they are able to supplement the youth coming in with what's already on the roster and what they need to prioritize in the portal will establish the ceiling for next year.

The negativity … just way too over the top
Considering Jed has won exactly one conference road game in 2 seasons and needed a miracle’s comeback in the second half means we can’t build any type of excitement or momentum after winning a game at Husky Stadium.
Play well at home, look like shit on the road. Rinse and repeat. Off to California, anyone expect a different result in 5 days.

There's a high school in Washington called Choate Rosemary Hall?

Got to admit, this staff has done a pretty damn good job of high-school recruiting thus far. Looks very much like a Chris Petersen class - solid prospects at every position, a few high-ceiling development guys, a kicker... and in Petersen fashion, we have a couple under-the-radar kids from the last recruiting class who are already playing and showing flashes as true freshmen

Per 24/7:
Kodi Greene jumped up to a 98 rating #20 overall, #4 OT, #1 in Cali
Holy Shit.
Gavin Day jumped bigly to 95 rating #77 overall, #7 Safety #2 NV
Brian Bonner 94 rating #121 national #7 RB #15 in Cali
DCB 94 rating #126 overall #22 Edge #1 WA
Rahsjon Duncan 92 rating #191 national #22 CB # 19 Cali
Mason James 91 rating #244 overall #4 OK
Finish this shit with the Viejo DT and I’ll be supremely impressed.

they need to flip one of the WRs as well. Preferably the big one committed to Baylor.

“Commits:
Kodi Greene returned to five star status jumping from 39 to 20 overall.
Gavin Day took a big leap from 234 to 77 overall.
Brian Bonner fell slightly from 110 to 121 overall. I suspect it is because he didn't get a ton of carries or yards, but when you average 9.3 YPC and score a TD on 11.5% on your carries, averaging 29.2 YPC and a TD 27.8% per catch I don't care what you're rated.
DCB improved from 161 to 126 overall. Glad to see that missing a couple of games due to injury didn't hurt his ranking.
Rahsjon Duncan continues to be on the rise increasing from 450 to 191 overall.
Mason James is the final commit in the top 247 and fell from 185 to 244 overall.
Targets:
UCLA DL commit Carter Gooden got a slight bump from 98 to 90 overall. The coaches are trying to squeeze Gooden in for an OV in the middle of next week.
Wisconsin WR commit Jaydin Pettit made a large jump from 209 to 93. The coaches have been trying very hard to get him to take an OV up to Seattle, but they may be running out of time. Oklahoma has been generating a lot of buzz to flip him.
Arguably the largest leap of any prospect in this re-ranking is DL JD Hill going from 997 to 103 overall. Hill is committing tomorrow between Washington and West Virginia with UW generating the most buzz. Hill had a monster senior season and as his ranking jump indicates, he is a player on the rise.
Baylor WR commit Jordan Clay took an OV to UW for the Purdue game and had a slight dip in his ranking going from 89 to 129 overall. The Huskies would love to flip him, but it would take Baylor firing Dave Aranda for him to consider flipping elsewhere.
Speaking of Baylor commits that took an OV during the Purdue game, DL Jae'lin Battle saw a huge jump in his rating as well going from 513 to 160 overall.
Tulane WR commit Trez Davis, who also took an OV for the Purdue game, saw a nice recruiting bump going from 267 to 182 overall. The Huskies are doing their best to flip him and he is definitely listening to them and other suitors.”
