The Fisching Report Recruiting Thread Sponsored by The Fisch Bowl

I like his measureables, if he’s a legit 6’3 and don’t care if he’s only 215 lbs going into his senior season, not if he’s barely 6’1”and 195. Imo we have a better shot at a borderline 5star from out of state. This means the star chasers like Whoregon will likely use uncle Fill’s/nike war chest on 5 stars with arms like t-rem like foreman?

I read that the 5*DE is one of those guys who if one of our rivals were getting I'd definitely question and be like the guy is tiny and isn't being recruited by his instate school or Bama, etc? Thing is though kids like to go to places where they feel like other highly-rated guys are going and signing and getting a visit from a guy with that rating helps with that. Plus, if he's an over pumped borderline 5-star it means he's probably still a good recruit as opposed to an overhyped low four-star guy you take just for the ratings boost who you know sucks.
savell smalls was a 5 star until he wasn't. Just sayin.
Smalls is the example of that type of recruit that doesn't pan out
Never developed the speed/quickness to play on the outside nor the size/strength to move interior

he was never good. Never produced. Some tbs'rs were hot for his body and never adjusted his ranking to a low 3 star which is what he should have been after it Was clear he couldn't play.

He's also the type of recruit who was ranked as one of the top players in the country as a freshman. "Gosh. Looking how good he looks as a 9th grader. Imagine how great he'll be as a senior." Problem is he just developed quicker than other kids. There's been countless examples of this.

@Joey
I'm actually OK with this
Part of where Washington has historically won is not by taking the kid that is necessarily the best at 18 but projects to be the best at 20-22
Sure there can be some hits/misses with that approach but it's a far more realistic path than expecting that we'll actually consistently beat out the blue bloods for the prototype guys
I’m more than ok with projects that you can see where the development will take place. Just feels like UW is trying to play the game of recruiting hype which is beneficial to a point. Just getting some Justin Flowe vibes here

Bring on Primus. When kids have us as a leader but don't want to commit, it's always a bad sign. He was ours until he wasn't.
Chris Lawson was like that last year, but he never got the offer he wanted which was Oregon. So it does work out sometimes I guess.
Sucks, but I'm not gonna lose sleep over losing a guy to Alabama. Tough there aren't a ton of OL to go around out west though, especially this year. Looks like a really weak year instate specifically.

jeron Johnson CB partial dong to udub. They already have two committed and took a shit ton last cycle so not sure why you need 4 cb’s per class.
