he played like two games if I remember before messing up his shoulder and sitting. Next year he carried the ball a ton. Was she really complaining about playing time vs Oregon and BYU?

I might have the detail wrong but I distinctly remember that she was publicly making a fuss over something early on.

I know she encouraged him to not go to usc because they were stacked at the time and there was a clearer path to playing time at uw. Never heard about anything at uw being a problem.

He got hurt in the first game of 08 against Oregon. Very first drive IIRC

That's how I remember it too. He took two handoffs the way I remember it, ran into a wall behind the line, and wasn't seen again.
Nobody...absolutely nobody...expected the Chris Polk who showed up against LSU to open the next season. I wasn't alone thinking he would be a pussy.
 
If you're a Bama fan right now you gotta be feeling like roster spots going to players that were playing FCS a season and a half ago and have all but 10 catches at FBS is something to be concerned about.
