Good pickup by Kaufusi and the boys. Getting one of the few four star DTs out west and the best player in the state of Colorado is nothing to sneeze at. I'm good with taking a more project local guy at DT if we also bring in a talent out of state guy. Now time to flip a DE. Possibly one of the O'Dea guys.

Just looked and No. Last rated recruiting class in the B12, Only 9 commits most of which are from east of the Mississippi. Seems as if Prime quit on draft day.

The don't worry about striking out with this cycle's recruits at a position because we're loading up in the next cycle is a tried and true Doogman narrative. Then cue as soon as the next cycle heats up and the elite guys at that spot don't have UW in their top 8 and the local guys commit to some school which seems like a lateral move at best out of nowhere.

I didn't intend my post to come off a Doogish as much as wondering how Kaufusi, Griffin, and Walters are boost edge recruiting. Kaufusi whiffed in the 2024 class, didn't get a 4 star in the 2025 class, and whiffed again for the 2026 class so I'm wondering if what his issue is there specifically.

My theory is he is sucks at recruiting kids for his position group. I think Jed knows this and paid a huge amount for the Colorado kid. That kid should have been in the bag way earlier. Usc and Oregon didn't pursue, and the sec wasn't interested, yet he always seemed to want to wait for something better.
tldr: kafusi likely still sucks at recruiting. I have no sources.
