The Costco thread

You guysm don't even know what Costco is until you've braved the Bellingham store. I call it "Canada's Costco.". ILTCIT.
Aka China's Costco. Been there with my father in law. It is hell. Worse than the one on 99 in Lynnwood.
BTW, Costco steak is twash because they blade tenderize them which introduces bacteria into the tissue. Technically means you should not eat any steak from there that's not cooked well done. The pork butt they sell is also not good because it's basically fileted apart to remove the bone and then wrapped back together.
God damn it, pal. Moments like this make me question being an online bro.

Myself and countless other millions of Americans have been happily eating medium rare Costco ribeyes and filets (I usually buy the Prime grade) w/o issue.

I'm perplexed at Costco's food offerings being unhealthy vs. every other store in America, instead of it being determined by what you actually buy.
Things I buy in bulk from Costco:
Walnuts
Organic Peanut Butter
Eggs
Greek Yogurt - plain
Coffee
half and half creamer
Butter
Raspberries
Limes / Oranges
Spinach (salad)
Chicken Breasts
Occasionally Pork Belly, Pork Butt/Shoulder, or steaks (I had not considered Bleached Anus Dawg's claims on those meat cuts, but if I am going to trust someone for meat quality, it is going to be the poaster Bleached Anus Dawg)
bottled water

health TBD items:
granola bars for on the go
Coke Zero
Booze
Cereal (this is rare)

Blade tenderized is crap. Their Prime is not treated that way, but they do that with the Choice. My man Guga agrees with me.

I’m gonna look closely at the labels next time to verify the USDA prime which is what I usually get. By law they have to say if it’s treated with said process.

I buy all the limes and NZ grass fed butter.

Things I buy at Costco:
Kirkland Brand Lube
Kirkland Brand dissolving condoms
Dog Treats
More clothes than I'd like to admit.
Hard boiled eggs.
TP
Paper Towels
Lightly breaded chicken
Gyro meat
Feta Cheese and other cheeses as well.
Sliced meats (turkey, chicken, ham, roast beef, pepperoni, salami)
$1.50 hot dogs
Bacon bits
Precooked bacon.
Artichoke Jalapeno dip is solid

We had friends over last weekend and I saw that they both were wearing the ubiquitous Puma low cut socks sold at Costco. It was somewhat depressing to see people a few years younger than me slowly accepting their suburban parental fate of buying everything at Costco to save a few bucks.

Most of my golf shorts are from costco. Honestly I get more compliments on them than I do the ones I've purchased at Puetz or other golf retailers. A lot of recent christmas gifts have also been purchased at Costco, so I just roll with it. I draw the line at Kirkland branded jeans. I'm a huge fan of under armor socks and pick those up on amazon.

We buy bully sticks for the pooch there. Poop bags whey they have them. Also the chicken jerky dog treats.

The artichoke jalapeño dip is crack. I showed much restraint and made a tub of it last almost a month but normally I’d hoover that shit down in a week.

Still pissed at them for tossing out the sausages at the food court. Hot dogs are weak

I buy tons of other shit there but was just listing the food.
Including the ubiquitous low cut Puma socks.

I'm going to associate those with giving up now.
@PurpleThrobber I don't think I recall the sausages. I bet they were solid. The artichoke dip was like an epiphany, and my life has been better ever since.

dissolving condoms?

Personally I don’t get clothes there but my wife does upon occasion. The return policy is how I imagine life used to be in the good ole days. One major reason for Costco’s success is that people have a positive outlook with it, hard to say that about many other stores these days.

Costco brats are better than Johnsonville and my wife can feed her Diet Dr. Pepper addiction on the cheap.

In just the drug store section alone I buy:
Contact lens solution and disinfectant
Dove soap
Shampoo
Razor blades
Vitamins
Flax seed oil
Afrin
Vitamins
Melatonin for Mrs snow (she’s a junkie)
Kids cold medicine
Ibuprofen

Q tips
Flonase
Allegra
the list goes on an on

yeah I could go on and on…. golf balls, golf gloves, tennis balls, cat litter for KITTIG KAT (FTG), claritin, razors, shaving cream, deodorant and on and on
The unit cost is so much lower than anywhere I've ever found for almost everything

After having a small farm and 30 some chickens that ate organic feed by the tons - and having the best tasting eggs ever NEVER buy eggs from Costco - they suck. They are old. They are stocking winter clothes right now and can''t beat the price on flannels and vests.
And at the new trailer park locale (nice being the only one in the park) , right next to the chicken coops, farm fresh eggs are back on the menu. Always spend a little extra and get the local unwashed eggs - they keep for a long time and do not need refrigeration.
