An overwhelming majority of American voters say that retailers are exploiting President Donald Trump's tariffs in the same way they took advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to raise prices unnecessarily, according to a newly released Protecting America Initiative poll.
The survey, which was conducted among likely general election voters, found that 82% say retailers are using tariffs as an excuse to justify price hikes, while 84% say they believe retailers engaged in price gouging during the COVID-19 pandemic. Another 81% said that the unfair price manipulation they are experiencing is a result of digital price tags.
According to the poll, more than a majority supports the president's tariffs, but want state policymakers and officials to create and enforce strong price-gouging laws and hold retailers accountable for predatory price increases. A lot of the tariffs are still held up by federal judges anyway. Corporations gouge. Its in their DNA. It is encouraging to see that the public gets it including all the covid scams and trillions of dollars that led to Bidenflation at 9%
People are going to vote on how they feel same as always. Perhaps if your team actually had an alternative that people would go for you'd have a shot

The trend is for other countries to give up on us. There is no worldwide trend to tariffs. The rest of the world is moving on and easing trade with other partners.
The $2k or so targets working and middle classes too by the way. Trump has lowered taxes for the sick rich.

It's happening… some countries are finding new trade partners. It's a big world, lots of buyers out there better prospects than the country with 20% tariffs. These are people, remember, they don't like being fucked with. Time to move on they say.
