Ribeye steaks, roasts, lechon asado, leg of lamb: Cabernet Sauvignon or a full-bodied Merlot

Tailgating tip for this year's Super Bowl: You can't. NFL poobahs have decreed you can't set up a grill, mustn't put uptables or chairs at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands. Security reasons.

You can eat and drink inside your car or standing beside it, as long as you don't step outside the designated parking space for which you've paid $150.

I have some merlot that drinks like a cab. Can I bring that?

Yeah, it shouldn't have to be either/or like the OP talked about.

My personal fave is a shiraz that drinks like a blend of pinot noir and malbec with a hint of riesling.

It's hard to think about good tasting wine when the person posting about it is named fecal matter.

Caveman, I don't mean to hijack your wine thread. But, the 12s have their own beer now. The article doesn't mention it, but I hear it has a very strong hint of citrus.

wine? Got it covered. Rather than turning just water into wine I just turned the water dispenser in my fridge into a wine dispenser. It's my first stop in the morning.

I have a rear engine cab with a front compartment that serves as a broiler for steaks, ribs, chicken, and such. We don't have to open no stinking doors to step outside so long as windows remain down. And if anybody brings Merlot, I'm leaving!

this place will sell no wine before it's time (allegedly)

Used to keep a jug or two of Paul Masson in the garage to serve when the in-laws showed up. We called it "Diego Red" because it was so indestructible. Never went vinegar on us after it was opened and a partially empty jug sometimes lasted a year or more. I left a jug of Diego Red at a cabin high in the Idaho Rockies one Summer and it was perfectly good the next Summer when we returned,..... so I can certify that Paul Masson can be frozen and survive without any noticeable change or damage. Always good with Depression Era food such as spaghetti and meatballs, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, etc.
