Especially that trick play. What is the reasoning here? If he looks like he fumbled the defense won't try to tackle him or get the ball?

Maybe he was doing the mime stairs routine. You can’t tackle a QB if he’s taken the stairs to his parents basement. Shaw must lurk here.

He was a pretty big get at the time and has never really sniffed the field except in mop up.

The announcers were easy to fool. Kept referencing UW being a favorite in the PAC-12 North.
