So, as a reminder, nobody here should ever try and analyze shit involving the Canes without some help from the creep. At minimum I'd expect someone to say something like, "hey creepy, what do you think? does this analysis pass mustard?" Or something like that.

Other than Mariota, who is in a league by himself of course in terms of his importance to Oregon, Freeman had as big a hand in Oregon's run this season as any other player. Helfrich got him. Helfrich also found and recruited Mariota fwiw, though the guy in charge at the time gets the credit ... that's how it works.
So he's shown himself to be a good recruiter by Oregon's standards. That's a start. Coker didn't recruit anybody. Butch and some key assistants not named Uncle Fester did the recruiting. Pete Garcia, their operations guy, was also huge in that program.
You gotta know the details of the programs you're talking about - not you HFNY; the author - before you can really dial this shit down.

Oregon isn't going anywhere lower than a 10-11 win team, and when UW finally beats them it will be as pathetic and doogerific as 'The Pick', if not more.

There is room for advanced statistics in sports.
I like using them in baseball because you can use the large sample size to accurately determine how good the teams really were (going beyond pure wins, losses)
But I don't hand out WS titles based on which team had the highest team WAR, and that is baseball, this is college fucking football where the teams play 4-5 good teams and a bunch of dreck each season.
