In fact, it was those kind of contradictions that made me start questioning many of the dishonest tenents leftism was based upon. By the time I was a 30 I was a conservative but even in college looking back I was already on that path when I was in my early 20s.

Free speech was always an important issue with me and something I belived the left supported far more than the right. But when I got to college, everyone I saw that was trying to shut down free speech and the free exchange of ideas were all hard core leftists. It was the left that wouldn't allow military recruiters to speak on campus. It was the left that was shouting down voices they didn't like.
