Stop the Mora clamoring

Mora recruited well and had the best UCLA teams of this millennium. They could never get over the edge and beat the best teams though - Oregon and Stanford. He also needed high level talent to do that.
He inherited Rick's guys, most notably, Brett Hundley. Hundley was to start his freshman year, got injured during summer, and missed Rick's last season.
Rick still made the first P12 championship game, getting plungered by my Ducks at Autzen Auditorium.
But the next 2-3 seasons under Mora were mostly a result of Rick's guys. T he evidence is the giant drop-off by year 4, once Mora had his guys in there.
It's a bullshit narrative that Mora did anything special at UCLA that wasn't largely gifted to him.
Didn’t Rick make the championship game because USC was on probation.
A minor detail, but yes.

Forgot about that. Pretty hilarious they got there after getting shelled by USC 50-0 in their last game. That USC team was awesome down the stretch that season. Robert Woods and Marqise Lee at WR and only loss after September was 3OT to a great Stanford team.

Pretty sure UW at 12 mil/year would get Dillingham in the sack rather easily.
ESPN doesn't give a single shred of a fuck about the Mountain 12 and they all know it and want back in with the West Coast schools.

I think Dillingham would leave ASU for the right opportunity. He seems so competitive I don't envision him staying at a place like ASU. I think he has enough personal connection to ASU to where he wouldn't just job hop to take one step up to a place like UW right now but bet if a big jump presented itself I think he would.
In my TheChatch like moment, I know a guy in finance in Portland who would do golf things with the Oregon football staff and said Dillingham was like a psycho type who only cared about football and winning and hated that kind of stuff.
I don't like him though and think he's overvalued at the moment because he's a Big 12 schedule merchant.

Pass. Dillingham rhymes with

UCLA fans would give their left nut that they probably don't even have to get Mora back. He got fired because he resented his bosses to the point where their egos couldn't suffer him anymore. Even though he was right about their commitment to football.
Dude has only been given opportunities at fucking basketball schools.
He’s never been a good coach, including as an assistant in the NFL. Only on here would anyone think otherwise. UConn is irrelevant.

Some coaches improve. Carroll is an example (though I think he's too old, and the Raiders are dragging him down). Similar story with Belicheat. I don't think he's ready to take UNC to the next level at his age and I don't think he wants to recruit in his 70s.
Saban was nothing special at Michigan State. Look what he did in the $EC until the cheatin' was legalized.

I don't think Mora Jr. is going to get better at 63 or whatever. I had totally forgotten he was the Seahawks coach in waiting and then there was the fun 5-11 season.

He'd probably do about the same as Fish honestly, maybe a little better. If he was loaded with great assistants, maybe a little better. The whole worship of him for many years was always puzzling to Bill.

Pete’s been going downhill for at least eight years now. Maybe if he had let Schneider call the shots, things may have been different over that span in Seattle, but I don’t think so
