Stop the Mora clamoring

hire-the-alumni trick rarely works. It's just a feel-good hire that never pans out at 90% of the time. Frost/Nebraska Neu/UCLA etc etc
This is a good point. @creepycoug would argue that the Crisco experiment at Miami is also ultimately flailing.
I'm sure you remember that we? used to make fun of the "bring in Stan Empterman" calls to make the Huskies Great Again.
Iron Law: great players don't make great coaches. There are exceptions, like Vrabel, but still …. Anyway, Mora could be one of those and he'd certainly be an upgrade over Fisch.
Yes, the Cristobal experiment is over. I wish he'd be happy being an O line coach and recruiting director. Anything beyond that and it's Peter Principle for him.

Yeah, for the record, I would in hindsight have taken Mora over Fisch January 2024 and would take him over more Fisch.
And right, for every Harbaugh/Kirby who is an alum who is great and committed to the school there are a ton of Frosts, etc who aren't great. Crisco is actually a decent version of that guy, but he's proven at this point to be a good, but not great head coach who just can't not drop a couple games he has no business losing every year.

Folks failing at their alma mater data has a lot of correlation but not necessarily causation.
I'm only in the Mora camp specifically because of what he's doing at a literal dumpster fire of college football (UConn).

His ties to UW are somewhat immaterial to me honestly. It's one of the things that puts him on our radar, but for me it's only because UW might be an actual destination job for him.

any drunk on a barstool could coach a road trip team better than Fish. If we? just played in Huskie Stadium all would be fine!

I've bumped into him & Pattison over in Idaho … those guys hike like crazy.
Pattison is a legit climber now. I don't know what his peaks climbed resume is but I know he was like doing crazy climbs in Russia and shit. Dude just cannot sit still.

We could, and probably currently are, doing worse than Mora.
Atbs UW should not be lowering standards to "good enough We? can get him".

As the top university in PNW tech land, who needs a sleazy sideline visor whore when you’ve got an algorithm that never sleeps?
UW should be the first college to go AI. Just crunch thousands of plays in seconds, predict opponent tendencies, optimize formations and simulate outcomes before the coin toss. No bias, no locker room drama, no mysterious "gut feelings" that lead to 4th-and-long disasters. Just pure, cold, data-driven brilliance.
Need halftime adjustments? AI doesn’t need a whiteboard. It rewrites the playbook mid-drive. Motivation? Just upload a few inspirational quotes and let the synthetic pep talk begin. And best of all, it won’t throw a headset or blame the refs. Or wear a baby poop hoodie.
Could be the answer. A data-informed answer.

Crowdfunding play calls. Let the fans/boosters vote on their phones with weighting geared toward those who contribute more.
NIL money explodes.

We? Could also beat 2-6 Wiscy no doubt.

Throbber is undeated.

Hiring Mora is like marrying the girl next door who also said you were the best guy but who would never date you growing up, but now that she's past her prime, divorced, and has kids with some other guy, she's interested.
He supposedly bled and shat purple and gold but then used us to get two raises at a conference rival.
Beady-eyed no-playing knothead.
Can you tell us more? Maybe her favorite color, nickname for you, etc? Not that your description seems ultra specific.....

Those UCLA teams with Mora were pretty good teams. Hire Mora keep the non Judd 3 on the defensive side along with ikaika malloe and get a top flight Big 10 offensive coordinator that doesn’t need 5 star talent to be successful

Mora recruited well and had the best UCLA teams of this millennium. They could never get over the edge and beat the best teams though - Oregon and Stanford. He also needed high level talent to do that.

Amen 🙌
Whether Judd is here one more year (or more!) or not, I doubt some of us will ever consider him a great fit. It just has never felt right to me from the get go.
