Steve Belichick Talks Patriots Years, Washington Huskies & Recruiting

I like how he squirmed a little and sheepishly said "well, I face timed my first high schooler".
Shit job being a college coach. I don't know how much I'd have to be paid before being willing to recruit, but it's a lot.

You’re either a salesman or you’re not. You can be an adequate recruiter even if you hate it, but you won’t be great at it and you won’t do it for long.
That’s why it’s critical your head coach can sell oil to an Arab.

I imagine you either love it, or hate it. Dealing with high school kids and helping them reach the next level and developing talent would be rewarding, dealing with primadonnas that have had parents, coaches, and trainers blowing smoke up their ass who have attitudes would suck. You deal with same type of shit in the NFL.
I'm curious with this staff being primarily NFL system guysm, what their interest and dedication is to raising kids vs taming adults. I think all of these coaches chose UW because bringing their talents and UW being what it is, it will recruit itself to a certain degree.
It was a good interview

I know better than to tag @PurpleBaze in this one. #PersianPride
