Nothing, absolutely nothing, is done in the UW AD or football program without some hedging. They're hedging their bets on the QB situation just like the AD and upper campus are hedging on Lake and Cohen. Every sensible way of looking at the situations screams for replacing the QB and firing both of them. The UW isn't denying it or confirming it, but they're taking half measures while they consider and look for ways out of doing anything at all.

Gregory may sign off on starting Huard, but he's going to make it look like an experiment rather than a commitment.

I agree that if Huard is good, the redshirt doesn’t matter. That said, it is nice to have. I’m torn between letting him go or possibly letting O’Brien get a couple starts to get some good tape for NFL scouts. The team comes first, but going with O’Brien might be the best of both worlds. Either one before Morris. Even if it goes horribly, I won’t be mad about Morris sitting.
