Stanford could have the early 2000's Miami defense with Ed Reed and Ray Lewis and they'd still not win the North, because that offense is worse than Washington's. Washington moved the ball better agianst a better defense, with a first time freshman starting quarterback and a limited playbook, than Stanford did with a third year starting senior quarterback.
