All these years and I feel like I barely know you. I knew about the despot part, but not the refined culture part.

Nice list Stalin. Stan Getz is definitely one of the best white sax guys of all time. On the off chance you aren't familiar with the Kenny Burrell (Chitlins Con Carne) original version, this is a must listen.

I am not. Will give it a go.

I am not. Will give it a go.

The album - i.e., "Midnight Blue" - is probably a top 3 jazz guitar album of all time. Grant Green's "Idle Moments" would be another. Both were recoded by Rudy Van Gelder at Blue Note so the sound stage is phenomenal as one would expect. Rudy was one of the best jazz producers of all time.

Figures he'd be on shitty Stanton or Numark decks, the Lada of the DJ booth.

Technics brought back the SL 1200 into production after about 6 or 7 years off. Only $2,000 now to get into the entry level deck w/o cart. They've been going after the audiophile market of late, so the news ones are supposed to be an upgrade over the old whicky, whicky decks of yore.

I'm hearing direct drive is overrated

Most audiophile snobs think it's lame and only ought to be for DJs that need the torque. I've never owned anything but belt drive decks with super quiet motors. But the new Technics decks are getting great reviews and supposedly have amazing speed stability.

Speaking of gloom

This bar I'm in to grab a burger and beer is so fucking dark I can barely see the menu

Oh it's playing some shit Rihanna song

I didn't pick it for the ambience fuckers. It's the closest one to my work
