Soccer is rotten to the core. You can bet adidas played that game as well. Price of admission.
 
Maybe this is a case of Nike outbribing Adidas, like South Africa apparently got the World Cup by outbribing Moroccco. Irregardless, "Sportswear Company A" "...a multinational sportswear company headquartered in the United States" looks to be in some trouble.

"Sportswear Company B" looks like they had a deal with the Brazilian Federation, but lost it when Brazil decided to keep talking to other parties.

McDonalds and Coke and other major brands are said to be "watching closely" at what happens so they can decide whether to continue pimping their product to a billion people.
