She was HAF in her day, serious BRB, JO material. The song? Not terrible IMO. From this album, "Hold on Loosely" and "Fantasy Girl" both got respectable air time back in the day, and they're both catchy. Like you said, the result of the need to fulfill a contract. They broke POP to get airtime and sell albums. A lot of bands did that in the 80's.
