Lake has more job security here. I mean McIntyre literally signed a 3 year extension a year ago and bam, he gone. I know I'm dooging, but job security is a big deal for a lot of coaches (unless of course you are in Pullman, FCS job).

Also our former DC Pete Kwiatkowski, who was the best DC in the conference, stepped down from play calling duties and gave his job to Jimmy Lake to keep him on staff and took a pay cut by doing so. You never see something like that happening elsewhere. Our coaches are different. Very low ego and money doesn't rule their decision making.

It’s a good job though. Some of you are delusional if you think Lake is going to get an amazing head coaching job right way.

You get that type of job from getting the head job at a place like Colorado and winning there.

There are outliers like Kirby Smart (Georgia alum) and Muschamp, but it doesn’t happen often.
