Sometimes economic ruin and being ruled by foreign powers that use coal and petroleum as much as they want is the price you have to pay for clean energy and saving the planet.

This doesn't get enough play. Not just that we're buying any oil from Russia at all, but it is some of if not the dirtiest oil on the planet. In the end, Democrats don't give a shit about the environment or whether we breath clean air and drink clean water. Sure, the fringe elements of their base treat the subject as a religion and they believe their priests actually care, when in reality, the entire scam as you say is about power and control.
