Some Nebraska insiders are ready to offer coach Pete $7M/yr to hire him away

"There is no way to fix this mess. It's too far gone now, and Nebraska is starting to look like Kansas fiscally--unwilling to spend on universities and education and such. That's not too attractive to top-tier recruits."

Might as well not even play the games

"Could Chip Kelly or Les Miles come on as an assistant or advisor?"

L-O-L

Edit: Enjoyed this one too - "Miles lost his winning touch. He would be a step down from Riley"

They want Bielema? He's gonna be fired soon so that might work out for them...

If they think they can get Mullen or Petersen they're clearly delusional. Funny thread tho.

I like the guy who thanks the guy for spelling Petersen correctly although it is still misspelled.

Sad that Nebraska thinks Washington doesn't have super high expectations... like obviously this has been proven but is rather hear it from a school with real expectations like Alabama.

Les Miles seemed to care about Nebraska winning during his broadcast. His son is already on the team so it wouldn't look like he wasted a scholarship just because it's his kid. He's got big 10, sec, and NFL ties.. and he won a NC. He's rested and not a good announcer

Yeah but is he also tanned and ready?

That was glorious to read. Even though I'm currently mad at Pete for liking white try-hards too much, it's really fun to not want our coach fired for the first time in 25 years.

Neb should hire the Chipper.

I would prefer they hire someone who has never even been to California, though. We need less competition in that state, not more.

Peterson wanted to go to a place without super high expectations and found it at UW.

BTW, thanks for spelling Peterson Peterman correctly.

I'm hearing that UNL has a fantastic children's hospital, and Lincoln is a great place to raise a family.

That thread is a great example of how knowledgeable Cornhusker fans are. Tons of great insights and information to be found there.

Nebraska should hire Paul Johnson and just get back to their beautiful REAL offense.

I think Jonathan Smith is the guy who is fully capable of restoring Corn Husker glory. He's got 4 years of coaching under Peterson under his belt and is the best OC in the booth. Enough said about that.

Petersen doesn't have enough time left to fix that mess in Nebraska

Petes walking away by the time he hits 60 if not sooner

Enjoy the ride
