Why would they? UNC will be rebuilding and UW already took its medicine this year. Plus UW is in a better conference and most of the players are from the West Coast so going cross-country to UNC because their 1 year defensive coordinator is going there doesn't seem likely either.

Only one year of medicine?
 
I would think so:
1- missing the first portal period so the staff held back NIL funds (at least $3 million)
2- playing a ton of 1st and 2nd year players guys (QB Demond Williams, RB Adam Mohammed, TE Decker DeGraaf, WR Rashid Williams, OG Landen Hatchett, OT Soane Faasolo, DT Elinneus Davis, DE Jacob Lane, LB Khmori House, S Vince Homles)
3- staff now having bowl practices to get more time with so many young players on the team
4- staff having the full portal period and more NIL funds to bring in more talented players to fill holes left by the previous staffs while also giving the 2023, 2024, and 2025 classes more time to develop
5- Demond Williams having spring ball as QB1 with a much improved OL due to portal and returning starters rather than a patchwork OL with zero returning starters
