So I'm watching QBs at the NFL Combine...

At what point did you watch Keith Price throw a ball and go "wow, he's got a NFL arm?"

At what point did you watch Keith Price anticipate a WR coming open on a crossing route and throwing to a spot before the WR came open?

Did you ever consider that perhaps the reason Sark fell so in love with the WR screen game was because that took advantage of what Price did well (throw an accurate ball) and eliminate the need for him to do the things he doesn't do well?

I usually don't give a shit about "NFL arm" when I watch college games.

My guess is that Price's arm is comparable to Russell Wilson's arm.

Jack Lockner has an "NFL arm" and he has no business being a starting QB in the NFL.

Accuracy >>>>> arm strength

An NFL quarterback? Seriously, look at the names on NFL rosters right now. Most "NFL quarterbacks" are fucking terrible. Price is at least fucking terrible.

KP was good as a sophomore, but his play regressed consistently from there.
He is not an NFL QB. He never could be competitive throughout an entire 12 game NCAA season, why would he all of the sudden bring his A game to 16 regular game?

When a player regresses , or stagnates it is usually a function of coaching. His lack of durability and measureables are a large part of the reason he is not at the combine ..

I think Price could be a decent backup for a few years, but his arm strength doesn't compare to Wilson's.

My concern is that Price was constantly hurt at UW. He doesn't have the elusiveness or strength that Wilson does to survive as a smaller QB. He's going to get knocked out early.

He will get to a training camp either as a really low draft pick or FA. I see him in an arena playing half length fball or in a cold, northern locale like Montréal or Edmonton within a couple years...or doing something else.
 
QB's that are Price's size have a hard enough time making it in the league. A guy his size, with limited mobility, and terrible pocket presence and feel (certainly could improve with coaching, but I think part of it is natural) have even less of a chance. If he ran a 4.5 it would be different, but he doesn't. Almost every time he gets touched he goes down.

Price will get a chance at a camp, but the smart money is on him never making an NFL roster. You never know though. If Matt McGloin and Jeff Tuel can make teams, then Price could in the right situation. He's pretty far down the totem pole for rookie QB's though. Next year, there will be a whole new batch. It won't be easy.

NFL personnel experts picked Gabbert, Ponder, and Lockner in the top 10 overall.

They're morons.

Price could be a solid backup in the NFL. I'd rather have him on my roster than the three guys listed above.

Says the guy who constantly pumps up Wilcox as being a great DC and in every podcast still say Wilcox saved Sark's job in 2012 even though he went 7-6(5-4) just like in 2011 and 2010.

If Holt was DC in 2012, we would have been 5-7 instead of 7-6. Maybe even worse than 5-7. Jumping 70 spots in total defense is a big jump. That's a fact. To say otherwise is FS. You're the one who called him a top 10 DC after the Stanford game. I think Wilcox is a good coach, big fucking deal. You can cherry pick games in which he sucked, and calling him great at this point is a stretch, but he's good.

It says that the NFL sucks at evaluating quarterbacks just like it has forever.
 
Price may not make an NFL roster but it will be because of his fragility, not his arm. The phrase "NFL arm" is the most overused fucking buzz phrase I've ever seen thrown around. Most but not all successful NFL starters have "plus" arms. A lower percentage of NFL backups do.

Drafting purely for arm strength has proven to be one of the surest ways to waste an early pick and millions of dollars on a terrible QB.
 
I loved price as our qb and thought he was pretty good in college he can scramble ok and has great accuracy. However, he has the least durable knees ever and horrible pocket presence. Not worth a draft pick. He will get invited to a camp though. Teams only carry 2 qbs now. You have to be able to stay on the field to be on the roster.
