But the Palis want a "From the River to the Sea" solution and won't accept anything short of that unless forced to. There were no Jews or Israelis in Gaza on October 6, 2023. They thought that Israel would engage in a proportional response once again. A response that would strip Hamas of power was unthinkable. A Western power committed to winning was unthinkable. Only third world powers could be committed to winning.
