I've been mulling it over. I was thinking that when @JoeEDangerously does his end-of-year annual all fake tough guy awards, we could do something like The Oracle of Maltby Best Prediction Award... and give it to the poster who made either the most incredible or most ridiculous prediction of the year. Something like that.

Sorry to lose Pup. He took me to the woodshed more than once, and it was an honor. Few can deliver insults and jabs as colorfully as Pup could.

Aside from Franny, the Ring Sting and the rag, soap and water, "Banging Beaver" will forever remain in my rotation thanks to Pup.

And I'll get a big sweatpants boner whenever I see Volkswagen Bus.

Lost my best friend of 40+ years and fellow Husky grad in 2021, with whom I had season tickets in college, and again during the Willingham years. Pup posts always remind me of those late 80s and early 90s years, even though I preceded him by a few years. Like most of us on these boreds, I'm sure, Pup exemplified the love, energy and protective ownership of the UW experience, reputation, meaning and brand.

Pup bled purple. Period. And I loved that crazy fucker for it.

I will miss those crazy, long-winded, creative and insult-infused rants on the HH boreds which were probably ventilations of anger from Pup, but at their core, revealed a long-time love affair with the UW and an endless belief in its greatness and superiority. Godspeed, Pup. And thanks for the memories.

Very good and poignant post.

Since I'm a total nerd with nothing better to do, I read the obituaries every weekend in the Seattle Times and smile when they mention that someone was a rabid Dawg fan. I have been keeping an eye out for Pup's in case his family decides to put one in the ST and would love to his his Hardcore Husky handle mentioned. Even bigger nerds than I am have their Ham radio digits so a HH call-sign would get major props.

I never seemed to get under pup's skin as well as some of you did but I'll proudly wear my Sermon Seeker title around these parts as long as it sticks.

Most interesting dichotomy of absolutely worthless shit-tier football takes and total must read, can't-miss-a-poast when he was talking anything else mythical character any of us will ever encounter. Certainly the most unique individual I've ever interacted with, anywhere.

Pup was one of one.

I should add to this that I could never stand Pup at Dawgman. He had various titles: cford, Sugarlove, PuppyLove, Steelheader, LamboBacker. All of them were horrible.

I was not happy when he made his way over here, but the freedom of HH allowed pup's colorful vocabulary to take him to unforeseen heights. At DM he was just clueless about football and constantly angry. At HH he was clueless about football and constantly angry and a fucking demigod.

Thanks @DerekJohnson for providing a place for random outliers like Pup to find their voice. This place is a treasure.

I'm convinced now that about 81% percent of Pup's tall tales were either complete bullshit, or greatly exaggerated. Hell, he might have even been a Jack doog for all we know, shit talking us? bonafied alums as "new fish" who never set foot in Husky Stadium.

But he posted with a conviction and unique prose that was unequaled in this community. I recall there was an episode of Ken Burn's extrordinary PBS series on cuntry music ( @RaceBannon will know it ) about Hank Williams Sr entitled "Hillbilly Shakespeare". Perhaps Pup will be remembered as the Half Brain Shakespeare .

Pup became a meme in my real life friend group, we use to read his posts out loud when we were hanging out on a week night in college and laugh for hours. RIP forreal forreal.

I had to leave the 2007 Ohio State game at halftime to go to a friend's wedding. We? were winning 7 - 3 at half and to this day I pretend that UW won that game.
 
Looking back, we DID win one for the Pumper. We went 14-1
Would have loved to see the inevitable Pup rant after DeBeor left for Bama
