People forget that it took John Wooden 15 years to win his first natty doing it the right way. They forget that.

Unless one of the Nordstrom Bros. do their best Sam Gilbert and step up with some cups of cash, ain't happening any time soon in Montlake.

Ain't happening any time ever with Hop in charge.

The Venn diagram of Hop doogs and Sark doogs is a fucking circle.

If Hop has any recruits we’d be hearing how we can’t fire him because we’d lose them. But he has nada. Tough times for doog excuses.

Ding! Diffferet ka that one basketball, you only need 7-8 good players to succeed. Ideally, you want more but tons of chmamoioonshipn caliber teams went 7 deep. You get above 9 and emeiatry problems start becoming more more likely.

If after next year, Hoo signs Banchero, Nowell, and another legit recruit (Nolan Hickman), he could have a very good team. Perfect combo of a one and done, but not being completely dependent on a one and one.

Those three, maybe another recruit, and Battle, Bey, Tshonois, and of you can get anything out of Roberts should have a PAC 12 contender. I just have zero faith to get it down.

You know what else might help that team. Getting a good recruit or two this year where he has completely shut the bed.!

That would at least be a reason, albeit a dumb one, to keep him. The zero recruits is the nail in the coffin. That will set us back years.

If you think you’re going to have to fire them eventually, fire them now

This. We are going to suck next year and it will be a real topic that even doogs will consider. Might as well just do it now.

Who could have saw this coming?

His buyout this year is something like $11.6 million. It ain't happening in a pandemic / AD deficit year.

Don't fire him, just demote him to a defensive assistant coach...then hire a couple of names that can go get local and national talent.

You misspelled 'towel boy in the equipment room'.

The damage Hop is currently doing is more expensive than a buyout.

Again, there was a time when Ty was roaming the sidelines and Seattle was behind UW basketball. And that was when the sonics were still in town.

If people don't like the buyout price they could always just lay blame where it's due and fire Cohen.

2 historically bad seasons should be more than enough for even this university but the fact it's even a question is embarrassing.

It’s not even a debate. Oregon has practiced 2 times in 4 weeks and without 3 starters is treating hop like a d2 team

Basketball program needs to go into damage control. Hop has no idea how to run an offense or a defense and appears to be an insecure control freak.

Firing will never happen because Jen is a teenager playing in an adult world, goodbye hoop program.

When you can’t fire the coach you do the next best thing and fire the assistants ... it’s the script

I think he needs another 2-3 recruiting cycles to rid the stench left over from Romar.

We'll always have the 1 win in however many years at Matt Knight or whatever the fuck it's called where ducks fouled us at the 3 pt line with tim expiring.

I laughed when that happened. Probably the dumbest basketball play I’ve ever seen.
