SECDAWG just went the way of Damone

I really dislike this part of running the site.

Okay, first off, I am not accepting donations earmarked for banning anybody. I want to make that clear. I did that once upon a time with an obnoxious poster. In the moment I thought it was funny but afterward I didn't feel good about it and told myself I wouldn't do it again.

As recently as 45 minutes ago I had no intentions of banning SECDAWG. But I was seeing the super-obnoxious vomit posting and I began to send warnings.

In a PM I likened the situation to where I'm running a bar and sometimes he's the drunk guy going around from table-to-table harassing the customers and telling them their team sucks and Georgia would kick their ass. I conveyed to him that this is a big night in the history of Husky football and I would like to see our posters celebrate and enjoy themselves. It's fine to tell everyone that you think Georgia would kick UW's ass. But going from table-to-table, as it were, or thread-to-thread with the same vomit posting, was degrading the experience of the board.

It makes me feel uneasy to consider banning because I'm such a free speech advocate and don't like having to do this. But like with Damone telling me to fuck off, when I asked my southern pod to back off and let threads breathe and let the people enjoy themselves, his response was that people were dissing Georgia and he was "comin' hard". When I reiterated my points, he challenged me to ban him.

So reluctantly, I had to let him go again, and this time permanently. And let me say, when he's not drunkenly shit posting all over the board, he's a very interesting guy with an interesting life. I saw hundreds of pics of him and his family out hunting, fishing, enjoying the river, watching football, gathered around the 'ol fire pit, etc. I enjoyed those interactions.

But he's a Jekyl and Hyde type, and the obnoxious vomit posting on nights like this just became too much tonight.

Like with Damone, it didn't have to end this way. My conscious is clear but it's still sucks to pull the plug.

I was all in favor of banning our Pod the first time around but then grew to enjoy about 81% of his posts his second time here. There was an angry and dumb element to his posting in the last couple weeks though and it sounds like he didn’t enjoy seeing the receipts.

Having a kook like @SECDAWG is a part of what makes this place special. Pod will forever be part of the HH lexicon.

But even Derek isn't a free speech absolutist and every once in a while you gotta throw the drunken AIDs out of the bar for the good of our close knit society.

SECDAWG was shitting everywhere, and it was harder than ever to figure out what he was trying to talk about. There was no other solution.

Just because you won't accept donations to ban someone doesn't mean that grateful posters can't donate as a thank you.

@SECDAWG was badly triggered last night. I think he actually expected to come over and get the Nebraska classy treatment and possibly some make up hugs and dude love. He seemed surprised that he was being called out. What a moron.

If this was a democracy and it went to a vote I probably would've voted "present". I'm not unhappy he's gone though.

I was too hammered to notice SECDAWG once last night. I can now see what my own end game will be though. All my roads lead to ban. It may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, but someday.

While I’m on record as saying I grew rather fond of SECDAWG after initially disliking the man, I think this was the right call. Our? pod was given multiple chances to get his reads down.

Imagine being that stupid, fragile and lonely to think you have to defend the honor of a program full of people who don't know or care about you. Imagine life being that empty.

Seems like he couldn't decide if he wanted to root for UW as a genuine fan of CFB or maintain an SEC-superiority mindset against all reason, and good taste.

Oh, he had no trouble deciding. Making insincere compliments about UW was his currency for being here so he could feather in his SEC SEC nonsense. He was very strategic about it and only blew up when everyone was on a full @haie diet last night talking shit and taking names in the aftermath of the win. That is when his true agenda was revealed because everyone was legit telling him to fuck off and blowing hard doog to a point at which he couldn't handle it. Before that, it was entirely in the "you have a nice little team, and because the world screwed up this year and the real best team is watching from home, I'm happy for you and your inferior program." Or his insincere, "I hate Oregon too! We're the same, so we think the same!" But his ultimate intent was always "I'm going to let you have this moment.gif".

Those guys have been fed a steady dose of "the only really good teams ever" are in the southeastern US for a very, very long time, so you have to almost understand it from their standpoint. Still obnoxious.
