SEC should get no less than 6 teams every year

Ohio State and Penn State will tell us today how bad the B1G is. And concurrently Tennessee can win one for the Bammer and the SEC
I hate the B1G as much as I hated the Pac so Rocky Top
All B1G Natty Game for the 2nd year in a row ?
January 1st is the natty at the Rose Bowl
Penn State won't make the final. My other DAWGS will be waiting in the championship
As would have been the case last year with the old system. So why do we need all the changes and a play off when nothing was broken?

Ohio state wouldn’t have made a 4 team playoff this year.

We haven't needed the changes since 1997
I was right all along
The NFL playoffs are usually boring. People forget

They would have made the Rose Bowl which is the natty game this year, as would have been the case last year.

@ntxduck
under what system would a 4th place osu have made the rose bowl?

I think the expansion to 12 is dumb but osu (who is probably a top 3 team in the country) undoubtedly benefited from the expansion.

Ohio state only had one old big 10 loss and tie breakers on IU and Pedo. pre bcs era they go to the Rose Bowl.

pre-bcs tiebreaker was who had the longest rose bowl drought, no? So it would have been Indiana?

Pre BCS Indiana would be 4-7, Bud !

All they need to do to fix this is make the champions an auto bid but not a guaranteed bye. Too late for our Ducks, this year.

so yeah there’s lots of flaws with the new format but people yearning for the pre-bcs era are doing it with rose (lol) colored glasses. Pre-bcs era Oregon beats Indiana by 21+ in the rose bowl and is declared national champion. I’d prefer that personally cuz I think we’ll lose to Ohio state, but I think most of this board should be thankful for the new system (this year at least).

Name a downside to the new system?
Maybe, playing 16 or 17 games.
Now, the best four teams are guaranteed to get in and whoever runs the gauntlet deserves it.
Yes, FSU sucked last year but you cannot say (100%) that the best 4 teams got in.
This will crown a true champion.
I know, some of the girls on this board (or in the sec) want boise and asu to not have a first round bye but there has to be a reward for winning your conference.
The current system is the best ever at this level. This cannot be disputed (rationally).

If you're too dumb to get it already, nobody can explain.

You not only proved my point but yours as well.
Congrats.

Ohio state losing vs Michigan pretty much fucked everything up imo since they are prob the best team
Otherwise it’s fine

fan of the second worst team in the field who gets protected as if they’re top 4 sees nothing wrong with the format. Shocking
