SEC drops to 0-4 in bowl games with Mississippi State's 34-7 blowout loss to Texas Tech

When people talk about how tough the SEC is, you’re generally taking about only three teams in any given year. It’s a lot of marketing/ESPN making everyone think it’s some kind of super conference. I’d be more worried about playing in the BIG10.

crazy to think this would happen with espn paying $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for their broadcast rights.

wwl better hope for huge cfb playoff ratings but doing them on nye is espnfs.

This is undoubtedly true but the bowl results aren't necessarily indicative of this. When you put two teams into the playoff, it moves every bowl selection down two notches in the pecking order. So for example, the Sugar bowl this year is Big 12 champ (Baylor) vs. SEC third selection team (Ole Miss) instead of Bama or Georgia. Then there's the trickle down effect for every bowl after that.

And normally I would post this on the college football board but the main board has been a little slow the since Christmas.

What if your bowl tie ins are, say, PAC #2 vs Big 12 #3 and you can’t win that in most years?

It deserves more eyeballs. 1-6! Sad! Refs will be favorable to UGAy and Bammer today

Mississippi St obviously wasn't interested in this game after missing out on the playoff

Always rich to hear pac12 fans complain about SEC being overrated based on low tier bowl results.
