To be quite honest (RIP, Sark), I've googled through a bunch of articles on this - looks to me like the most egregious event was a pickup truck full of white boys driving by and calling one of the agitators a 'n-gger'. And any rational human knows that was in no way university sanctioned. Christ.
I just can't connect what the university did to promote or deny a 'positive experience'. Failing to 'recognize' what happened in Ferguson? Since when is that an objective of a place of higher learning?
This is indeed getting old. Eventually the name-calling and accusations take on little more than a cry wolf scenario and will ultimately hurt the 'victims' cause more than it helps.
