As someone who was bussed from Magnolia to S. Seattle in the early 90's to attend the "advanced" 5th grade class, I definitely could have and should have gotten that education at the school I had been attending prior.I don't think anyone is arguing that the kids in the program were harmed by it. But they would have done just as well receiving advanced instruction in their neighborhood school. My friend was in that in the 90s. He's doing fine. He was the smartest kid I knew by far. Makes six digits and lives on the Sammamish Plateau. It's not the job of smart kids to help average kids or get dragged down. They'll do better on their own. That offends idiotic SJWs though, so it must be stopped. They love to drag down the "privileged."Doing the right thing for the wrong reason is still doing the right thing, and somehow trying to create little academies at Washington Middle School and Garfield was always stupid.
