My NFL fandom is very similar. I actually like the Seahawks as a kid and followed them a little more than UW football. Started as a Niners fan when they won the first of the back to back Super Bowls but even then, I was a very casual fan.My NFL fandom has never had any loyalty. I liked the Pats when they won their first SB, then hated them except for when they lost to the Giants, who I always hate. I liked the Chargers with Dan Fouts. In most years I end up picking a different team and rooting for them through the playoffs, but pay no attention otherwise.
I have cared about the Seahawks a couple of times, ever. I rooted for the Dave Krieg, Curt Warner, Steve Largent teams but never really cared that much. I watched and cheered when they won the super bowl, and I laughed at them when they blew it.
The UW loyalty will never go away, but how interested and attentive I am about it is in doubt.
I’m gonna guess 90% of Washington males over 60 years old are Niners, Raiders or Rams fans.I was 121 years old when the Seahawks came. For pro football I was a Niners and Raiders fan
Husky fan from birth
No comparison for me
Suck it. Roman Gabriel or die!!!!!John Brodie and Darryl Lamonica
You had me until the final sentenceLove my Hawks but it's a healthy relationship with boundaries and space. I don't need to know what she's doing at all times and I don't look at her phone when she's sleeping.
Can't say the same for my Dawgs. This relationship is dysfunctional and toxic with an ever-present fear of abandonment and rejection. Without her, I would die.
I realized 17 minutes after posting that the final sentence was probably overkill. I was a Seahawks fan before it was cool. I vaguely remember Dave Krieg and largent. Became more of a fan when bob bratkowski was coach and his son was on my team. Got to sit with the players wives a couple of times. Went to the complex after the season and got to see Tez Rex as he was grabbing his shit for the pro bowl. Different friends father made one of the best saxophone mouth pieces in the US so of course I got to meet Eugene (pre-super bowl whore days). Had tons of husky gear growing up but the mariners were also fucking awesome then and in constant rotation.I’m a Seahawks fan. DO NOT call me a “12.” Big difference.
My first clear memories of the Hawks were listening to them lose on the radio while driving to Duvall Books on Sundays with pops, and then eating corn dogs and jojos at the Duvall mart that had the game on the radio. They typically were still losing. Rick Mirer and Dan McGwire were shit.I was a Seahawks fan before it was cool. I vaguely remember Dave Krieg and largent. I’d say I was a hawks fan first and became a big fawg fan later but now it’s lessened because college football is loosing what made it unique.
how could I forget the super chronics!! It was so convenient in later life that these two were #20 & #40.My first clear memories of the Hawks were listening to them lose on the radio while driving to Duvall Books on Sundays with pops, and then eating corn dogs and jojos at the Duvall mart that had the game on the radio. My first clear Dawg memory is my dad bawling like a baby when DJ quit. I remember where I was sitting and where he was keeled over. Pops instilled in me what's important. Season tix for 30 years and I went to pretty much every home game. Pre-game Azteca mexican pizza was always da bomb.
I was a basketball/baseball kid and my pro allegiances were always strongest with the Sonics and Ms. The 90s were rad but Mutumbo, Olajuwon, Jordan, and a lack of pitching fucked it all up.
Hawks still have the only Seattle natty that I can remember. I'd trade that Hawks natty for a Dawgs or Ms natty any day.

wherever the line was drawn on the X's and O's, that's where Csonka was running. Never mind who is there. Note finger display.
