Sam plays the most important position.

SaVell plays the position of greatest need.

So if it's coming from Ecklund there's a 99.81818181818181% chance it's completely, totally, and thoroughly wrong. But, if for whatever reason it was actually true that our coaches are 'waiting for him to reach out before they reopen communication', then shut the fucking program down.

Here's a kid who's obviously let recruiting go to his head a little. But he's a generational talent at an incredibly important position, he's a really solid student, he's never had discipline issues, comes from a solid home. If Pete's OKG culture is so delicate that it can't handle a kid like this, then we've got bigger problems. If we're not recruiting the shit out of this kid on a daily fucking basis and doing everything we can to sell our program and change his mind, then I don't see how Pete ever expects to put together enough talent to compete for a national championship.

"Re-open communication" could mean something pretty specific tho. There's no way that Ikaika isn't hanging out at his kids' games/practices and saying "what's up?" to Sav'ell whenever he sees him. Malloe should just keep building the relationship until Smalls gives an indication he wants to mend the bridge with UW.
 
Nah. Just that recruiting needs to be adaptable in its technique and communication if the Dawgs plan on competing with the blue bloods, year in year out. Otherwise conference championships are the ceiling.

Remembering these are impressionable kids and that they are listening and still learning, puts this bored and fan base in position to help or hurt the process. If you believe they read HH.

Uh yeah, being a 17 year old and talking shit to grown ass men like that is way out of bounds. If that's what he means by "being himself", then Oregon, FSU, or Bama are the places to do it. We watched UW suck him off as long as they could. They showed him more love on social media than any recruit ever. But at some point, you have to draw a line in the sand and I don't fault them for doing so. I don't think he'll have Bama as an option down the road. Their top three rated commits right now are all OLB guys and they also have a fourth 4-star OLB commit further down their commit list. Maybe they'd drop somebody for him? We'll see. But right now it looks like it's going to be an Oregon, FSU, and Florida battle.
