He's trying to be cute and keep BSU guessing as to whether ASJ will play. A good coach wouldn't give a shit if BSU knew that ASJ was playing because it wouldn't matter in the outcome.
 
It would probably be good for Sark to maybe not have ASJ for the game anyways. Maybe then he'll actually be force to run the football, and blindly come to the realization that running the football with Sankey actually wins football games.

Would a statement like this from any college coach work "I'm not going to punish the entire team for one players mistake and that's what suspending him would do. We are going to handle this matter internally. And believe me when we are through with player x he's going to wish he had just been suspended". Obviously the last line is bullshit but it plays to crowd.

This would work and it wouldn't have to be bullshit. They could run his ass into the ground, push him until he's puking and crying for his momma, and then push him some more. That would get the point across and I think ASJ is the type who would take the punishment without pulling an Adam James. In fact he'd probably use the experience as a warning to his team mates.

Good post. This would be another effective way to handle the situation.

This is just another instance of Sark getting cute like his playcalling and trying to get WSU to jump offsides on 3rd and 1. He probably thinks it is good gamemanship to keep this a secret.
