we still will have a mediocre OL next year. More experienced, but not great on talent. And a talented but pretty new QB. Sark had many chances to give Miles experience this year, and did not do it. If ASJ goes, you lose his blocking and capabilities as a threat. People will focus more easily on Sankey. If he can stay healthy, he still will have an awesome year and I would love it. And the schedule points to 10-3 or above, even with some losses to graduation and the NFL.

I'm going to hope that a new coach will help the OL. Cozzetto coaching resume is so fucking spotty after he left ASU in 99. He hasn't done anything of note since then. I doubt Petersen will completely ignore the OL like Sark did either. There is no reason an OL full of guys going into their third year as starters should be anything less than a top 3-4 unit in the conference.

I'm not really worried about QB. I'm confident either Miles or Williams will be good. Price had a good year, but he was a little inconsistent. I don't think Miles was that far behind him this year.

I think the offense will be very good next year. I'm more worried about the defense, particularly the secondary. It's time to have a defense that shows up every game.

Your agenda against Price is clouding reality. Just like Hugh once you said he's not a good QB in the Pac-12 you have done everything to minimize how good he is and prop up his back ups. Shame on you.

If going 216-330(65.5%) for 2,843 yards(8.6 YPA) with 20 TD's and 5 INT's along with 5 rushing TD's to only one fumble is "inconsistent" then you just thought every UW QB season in history has been "inconsistent".

He played one bad game against ASU where let's be honest he shouldn't have even played. He was hurt and for Sark to have the game plan feature him was fucking stupid. Even the "god" Justin Wilcox gave up over 50 points and had his defense quit on him.

To say Price was inconsistent based on one game where nobody played good is a bit over the top IMO.

You must have missed where I said he had a good year. Price was slightly better than Miles. There was very little to no drop off when Miles played. Price put up big stats against shitty teams except for Stanford where he played lights out. His Apple Cup was about the emptiest 15-20 game I may have ever seen. He sucked in the first half of that game.

I don't think Price is bad, he's not great either. 3 years starting and not even one 2nd team all conference selection.

Miles only action was against an Oregon State team who had quit where UW ran for over 500 yards and Idaho State. I would have loved to seen Miles against Oregon, ASU and Stanford but keep up your anti Price agenda.

I said Price was an above average QB after the Oregon game. After that, what did he do? Played like shit against ASU and put up great numbers against Cal and Colorado. Big Fucking deal. He was a reflection of Sark and the whole team. He didn't get any better from when he was a sophomore and he played great against bad teams and like shit against good teams, except for the Stanford game.

Anybiddy that talks shit about Price needs to look up the Int records for the last 30 years, and then diaf. Keef kept the team in a lot of games that most UW qbs would've thrown away like so many stupid Jake Locker/Tui/Damon interceptions. Look it up, Tui won the Rose Bowl with almost a 1:1 ratio.

Lots of QB's are putting up great numbers nowadays. You shouldn't discount stats, but they don't tell the whole story either. Like Race has said, nobody seems to play great defense anymore and the offenses in college football have changed. QB's are more proficient than in the past. That's not an opinion, it's a fact.

Keith Price had 2 seasons with a higher rating than Peyton Manning's best rating when he was at Tennessee. He had a higher career rating than Ryan Leaf, John Elway, and I'm sure a lot of other great QB's. He wasn't better than any of those guys, just like how Colt Brennan, David Klinger, and Andre Ware aren't the best college QB's of all time because they put up huge numbers. I don't give a fuck that Tui had mediocre stats, I watched both of them and it was always evident Tui was the best QB in the conference, Price never was.

What games did Keith Price win us last year that we would not have won without him? We still would have been 8-4 with Miles. Chest makes a good point. With the coaching change and returners, the offense should be better next season. I predict Price will not be a huge loss. I also predict Miles or Williams will put up comparable or better numbers that Price did. Of course, when Williams or Miles has a shitty game, More Time and you will say, "hey RoadDawg, do we still not miss Price" while conveniently forgetting Price had his fair of stinkers too.

Wrong, because I always gave Price credit for playing well. When Hugh dismissed his game against Boise State and said "He hasn't led the team to a statement victory" after the Stanford game, I thought it was FS and bashed Hugh over it. I've never said any stupid shit about Russell Wilson either because it is evident he is a very, very good QB.

 
Keith would have won a lot more games with a competent head coach. He is one of the greatest husky QBs of all time. He didn't have a chance to show up in as many big games as he would have liked because our fucktarded coaching showed when we played good teams. It was also Sark's fucktarded O-line recruiting that fucked Price into injuries which was a HUGE factor. Look what happened to Mariota after he fucked up his knee... He tried saying it didn't affect his game but all great competitors will say that (no excuses).

Williams or Miles will not put up Keith Price numbers next year. They could potentially in a year or two but I highly doubt in their first full year as a starter they will come close to Price. Maybe Price's junior season.

There is no doubt in my mind Keith Price was a Rose Bowl/BCS winning caliber QB.

This year I don't know if Miles defeats Arizona or kills Boise State.

UW ran for 500 yards but idiots continue to say Miles won the Oregon State game.

UW went 7-6 in 2012, had Price been hurt the whole year UW goes 1-11. They would have surely had a worse record playing with a true freshman, but they would have won more than one. Portland State, Utah, and Colorado for sure, probably Cal.

This year I don't know if Miles defeats Arizona or kills Boise State. We still would have won both. Price was really bad in the first half of Arizona, although he gets a pass because of the weather. The defense and Sankey alone would have won both those games.

Your whole post is made up bullshit. You act like Price is a world beater for tearing it up against shitty teams. Yes, he had good stats, but after the 2011 season, outside of a game or two, I never watched and thought, "Wow, this is a great QB." I don't know why we keep having this argument. I was saying it after the Oregon game, and beating up on Cal and Colorado wasn't going to change my mind. Price did not perform well enough against good opponents (all 4 games we lost) to be a great QB. Above average, good, whatever. It's all semantics. In my opinion, we will do just fine without him.

Price is an excellent college QB, who has the misfortune of playing in a conference with great QBs and had the misfortune of playing for a HC would neither recruited nor developed an OL that could protect the QB. You could have put John Elway (or name quality QB) back there the past three years, and the results would not have been much different. Price played injured in various stages all three years, which is partly probably his own body and frame and majorly because of a crappy OL.

To compare him to others, you have to put them behind Washington's weak OL, which only knew how to run block against mid to lower talent teams.

The Stanford game and the Baylor bowl game are somewhat exceptional. It think his overall body of work shows he is a very capable passer and game manager, but rarely was really given time to throw when facing top-25 competition.

I think Price was a very good QB, but I also think he's overrated on this bored. His 2011 was great, his 2013 was very good and his 2012 was bad, and even with the dreckfest OL he has to take some of the blame. Overall very good seems pretty fair to me.

I think he's a warrior who plays through pain as well as anyone I've ever seen. He's highly accurate and does as great job of putting the ball where his guy has a chance to make a play.

OTOH, he doesn't see the middle of the field very well and can get rattled pretty easily.

I like the kid a lot, I hope he has a career at the next level. I'm not convinced he's durable enough though. He was hurt most of his career here, I just can't see him holding up in the NFL. Hope I'm wrong.
 
My problem with Price was that despite the numbers, he doesn't look comfortable when his first and second options are blanketed, and he no longer has the speed to just book it out of the pocket because of injuries. For fuck's sake, he made WSU's D-line look competent. Miles is not on the same level as Price as a passer, but he doesn't have the nightmares of getting fucked up in 2012 and just looks way more comfortable in the pocket. You have to give him a little credit for his play in the OSU game because he made the plays he was supposed to and didn't shit his pants under pressure. And for me, I admire what Price did for us under a shit coach and state of the program, but that play at the end of the 2012 apple cup was just ball-crushing...
 
Price was lights out good in 2011 and we keep forgetting that. He outplayed RGIII. But with the horrific OL in 2012 and his own nightmares, neither his body nor his mind ever fully recovered.

He still is a major record holder for us, so it is hard to argue he is not good.

Husky fans get into weird arguments about QBs sometimes. Our undies are all twisted about guys like Pickett, Locker and Price, all of whom were very good in their own times but did not win as much as they were expected. Winning makes a QB look a lot better.

Oregon State gave up. Chest is right that any QB would have beaten them. However, Miles has done nothing is his playing time to suggest he isn't good. He's flashed some potential against UCLA and Oregon State.

It is naïve to think that just because Price started over Miles that he is so much better than him, and that there is no chance our next QB could be better than Price. I will also admit it is far from a guarantee, but in my opinion, the drop off will be non existent to minimal.

EJ Manuel was a first round pick and started over Jameis Winston, but Winston has certainly been a better QB for FSU so far. Ryan Tannehill and Johnny Manziel is another example. Cam Newton played behind Tebow despite being more talented. Look at Price. There was no chance he was starting over Locker despite being a more accurate passer and a better decision maker. With Manuel, Tannehill, and Locker, I am sure a lot of their fan bases (for sure with UW's) questioned how they could replace a first round starter. I think our back up QB's are more talented than Price and combined with a better coaching staff, it's not all that crazy to think that they could be as good or better than Price.
