But what Leaf had to say about Eason prior to the Oregon State game really stuck with me.

“He’s got to come back,” Leaf told me by phone. “He’s regressed a bit from where he was earlier in the season. He struggles a lot at stepping up in the pocket. His thing is, if he feels any pressure coming towards him, his immediate reaction is to plant that foot and spin out of the pocket. It’s really gotten him in trouble.

Eason regressing? Take out the OOC games and he's been fairly consistent all year.

They were all consistently mediocre to bad but that’s not as strong of a narrative.
 
Eason played really bad vs the Beav, but we also dropped a ton of passes. He was also really bad in the 2nd half against Utah. Bad offensive scheme and play calling aren’t an excuse for throwing a pick into triple coverage in the red zone and a pick 6. That’s where you will lose me.

He’s not a superstar at this point. Everyone sees the rocket arm and 5 star rating and assumes he should be. When he’s on, he looks amazing. Right now, he’s struggling a little bit. I don’t really know what to make of it. Seems like a topic of the week that either disappears with a good game or continues on.

I'm all for bashing CP, but Miles and Lindquist did not regress. They were shit prior to him.

Miles looked ok under Sark & Tui. He didn't play a lot and his weaknesses were probably exposed but when you look at what he did prior to CP and after, it was regression.

Miles looked ok under Sark & Tui. He didn't play a lot and his weaknesses were probably exposed but when you look at what he did prior to CP and after, it was regression.

Miles looked good against UCLA and Oregon State in 2013. He was never going to be great or even good, but CP turned him into a pocket passer and he was horrible.
